Seamer Ishant Sharma has been named in India's squad for the remainder of this month's seven-ODI series against Australia, despite proving expensive during the opening three fixtures.

Ishant has conceded all of 189 runs in two dozen overs, for an economy rate of 7.87, and taken just two wickets. He was particularly expensive in Saturday's third match in in Mohali, as an unbeaten half-century from all-rounder James Faulkner carried the tourists to a four-wicket win – and two-one series lead.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra, batsman Ambati Rayudu and fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat, who have not been named in this month's playing XI yet, have also been retained in the 15-man party.

The fourth ODI will get underway in Ranchi on Wednesday. Cuttack, Nagpur and Bangalore will host games five, six and seven respectively.
