Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Sanjay Patel has confirmed the squad for a brief tour of Bangladesh will be named before the end of the month.

The sub-continental rivals will meet for three ODIs between 15 and 19 June this year. The fixtures will, effectively, bridge the Indian players' participation in Indian Premier League on 1 June and the departure for the tour of England three weeks later.

The matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, with the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Sylhet Stadium and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah overlooked.

"The team for Bangladesh would be selected at the end of this month, most probably in Bangalore," Patel told PTI. "As for the squad to go to England, not now, that will be done later."

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and batsman Virat Kohli are expected to be unavailable for the tour of Bangladesh. Dhoni, reportedly, will be on vacation – and Kohli has requested to be rested.

Batsman Rohit Sharma, in the absence of the pair, is likely to be named skipper. Alternatively, spinner Ravichandran Ashwin might be handed the reins.
