Captain Michael Clarke recovered from a minor ankle injury during Monday's practice session, and is expected to be named in Australia's XI for the second Ashes Test, which will get underway at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

Clarke left the field after hurting the right ankle while running, but later returned to bat in the nets without discomfort.

Cricket Australia subsequently tweeted a photograph of the 32-year-old holding the ankle, coupled with the message: "He has since completed a nets sessions and is okay."

The hosts lead the five-match series on the back of a 381-run triumph inside four days at the Gabba in Brisbane, where Clarke and the left-handed David Warner enjoyed outstanding centuries and fast bowler Mitchell Johnson was named Man of the Match on the back of superb figures of nine for 103.
