Inzamam in line to be Pakistan chief selector

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is in the frame to become the new chief selector of the national side, according to a source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The PCB are currently revamping the national team after a disastrous World T20 in India with coach Waqar Younis resigning after the global tournament.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan is looking at candidates for the chief selector role and has, according to the source, already been in touch with Inzamam, who is Pakistan's most capped international player having played 120 Tests and 398 ODIs.

The PCB source said: "Look nothing is final as yet that is for sure. Shaharyar is presently in the process of talking to likely candidates and Inzamam and Rashid are among them.

"But it is wrong to say Inzamam has been finalised as chief selector."

Inzamam is currently the head coach of the Afghanistan national side.
