IPL 2022 mega auction: What we know about the upcoming event

The IPL 2022 mega auction could be the biggest player auction event in the history of T20 franchise cricket.
Insiders have already predicted that a new record fee could be established with some suggesting Australia’s David Warner could be the man to attract big-time bids.
Pursestrings have been loosened at the BCCI, who have bumped the salary purse up to close to £9 million per team and we will see two new franchises join the fray.
The eight existing IPL teams were given the option to retain up to four of their pool of previously contracted players.
The two new franchises have the option to sign three players from those released- two domestic and one overseas – from 1-25 December 2021.
