Irfan hoping to make return in Sri Lanka

Beanpole Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan is hoping to make his return to the national side for the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka next month.

Irfan suffered a stress fracture to his pelvis during the World Cup in March and has made his comeback to cricket by taking part in a domestic T20 tournament in Faisalabad.

The 33 year-old Irfan told PTI: "I am playing here (in Faisalabad) with the permission of the cricket board and selectors.

"They wanted to see how I respond after recovering from the injury and I am hopeful I would be considered for the one-dayers and T20 game in Sri Lanka next month.

"I enjoy cricket and bowling and it is a challenge bowling in T20 cricket, but I have learnt how to cope with the mindset of the batsmen now."

Pakistan is currently playing a three-match Test series in Sri Lanka that will be followed by five ODI's and two T20I's.
