‘It is good for us to play a strong opposition’
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha is looking forward to his team's upcoming Test series against Pakistan saying it will be good test to see how his side has progressed over the last few months.
The Tigers take on their Asian neighbours in a two-match Test series starting in Khulna on Tuesday and Hathurusingha wants to see if they can translate their recent good ODI form into the longest version of the game.
Bangladesh have just whitewashed Pakistan in three ODI's and won a one-off T20I match but the Pakistan Test team is a far different proposition, having more experienced players and are currently ranked number four in the world.
Hathurusingha said: "Pakistan have a really strong team with experienced players in their Test squad. They beat Australia recently, they are [ranked] No. 4.
"It is good for us to play a strong opposition at this stage because we are also doing well. Our expectation is to win every series. We don't take opposition for granted or overconfident. We try to do our best and if we do that, I think we have the ability to beat any team.
"It is a different format but still, when you do well you get confident. You trust your preparation. That's the confidence we are taking to the game. It doesn't mean we are overconfident."
