Chief selector Sanath Jayasuriya has suggested fast bowler Dhammika Prasad will feature in Sri Lanka's squad for next year's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Prasad was key to Saturday's six-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, which afforded the Sri Lankans a two-one series triumph.

He completed telling figures of two for 25 in six tight overs, which included the important dismissals of openers Ahmed Shehzad and Sharjeel Khan for just 10 and a duck respectively.

"What I like about him is he always performs whenever he is given the opportunity and his body language is also good. He can also bat and he could be a useful fast-bowling all-rounder. We need players to perform so that we can have an idea of the combination we require for the World Cup," said Jayasuriya.

All-rounder Thisara Perera, who had orchestrated three key breakthroughs and struck a quickfire half-century in the second ODI in Hambantota, was named Man of the Match on the back of fine figures of four for 34.

"Thisara is a key figure in our World Cup plans for next year and it is good to see him perform like that with both bat and ball. We need to have a fast-bowling all-rounder in our team and, if Thisara performs the way he is doing right now, he can give us a lot of options whether to play six or seven batsmen in our line-up," added Jayasuriya.

The Sri Lankans have been pooled with New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, Australia and Scotland at the 2015 ODI showpiece. Their first fixture will be against the Black Caps at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on 14 February.
