Jordan welcomes competition from Wood

England bowling all-rounder Chris Jordan is not worried about his place in the Test side quite yet, saying the presence of potential debutant fast bowler Mark Wood is good for the healthy competition in the side.
Jordan is aiming to be a proper all-rounder, and has shown some glimpses with the bat, and hopes that his catching in the slips, combined with bat and ball, will give him the edge over Wood come Lord's on Thursday.
Jordan said on Cricinfo ahead of the encounter against New Zealand: "I think it's healthy, it keeps everyone on their toes and it keeps everyone trying to improve as well.
"Personally, I do have ambitions of being viewed as a genuine all-rounder and that can only come with results, and getting more runs and more catches. That's what I can bring to the team.
"I wouldn't say it's a case of looking over your shoulder, any team has guys trying to get your spot. As I said before, it's only healthy for the environment because it makes everyone lift their game.
"Whichever eleven steps onto the field on Thursday I'm sure will do a good job."
