Bangladesh are officially without a coach after allowing Shane Jurgensen to leave his post with immediate effect, after he resigned from the job at the end of April.
Jurgensen had said he's stay with the side until after the proposed ODI series against India in June, but the BCB have decided to let him go now and kick on with the search for a new mentor.
The Australian resigned after hints from the board about a shake up within the side , following their poor efforts at the Asia Cup and World Twenty20. He was the third coach in a row to quit before his contract was up.
BCB boss Nazmul Hassan said: "He had written in his resignation letter that he could stay till the India series.
"But having discussed the matter with the board, we believe that it is best to release him immediately. Jurgensen also told me during our discussion that he feels that we should release him immediately, which would be good for the team."
The BCB have confirmed that they will be looking for a foreign coach, as their last eight have been non-Bangladeshis, but will go for a local coach if push comes to shove.
