Kaushal taken to hospital after head knock

Sri Lanka batsman Kaushal Silva was airlifted to a hospital in Colombo after being struck on the head during a national team practice match in Pallekele.
The 29-year-old was fielding at short-leg when he was hit on the head and felt the force of the impact despite wearing a helmet with additional padding.
Initial reports indicate that Kaushal is not in serious trouble but he will continue to be monitored as a precautionary measure.
Sri Lanka team manager, Charith Senanayake, confirmed: "Kaushal was fielding at short leg when he got hit. Dinesh Chandimal swept right onto the back of Kaushal's head. He did take evasive action, but still the ball hit him."
An opening batsman, Kaushal played his last Test against the West Indies in October last year and was looking to force his way back into the side for their next tour.
The Sri Lanka side are preparing for a tour to England where they will play three Tests, five ODIs and one T20I while they will also travel to Ireland to play two ODIs.
