Kohli fined for showing dissent at umpire

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that India batsman Virat Kohli has been fined 30 percent of his match fee for showing dissent after being dismissed against Pakistan in Mirpur on Saturday.

Kohli was on 49 when he inside edged a ball from Mohammad Amir onto his pad and given out lbw by on-field umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge.

The right-handed batsman admitted the charge and accepted the penalty given to him by match referee Jeff Crowe.

The ICC said in a release: "The incident happened in the 15th over of India's innings when Kohli, after being given out leg before, displayed dissent by first showing his bat and then leaving the crease while looking back at the umpire and uttering some words that were contrary to the spirit of the game."

India beat their arch rivals by five wickets in the T20I to remain unbeaten in the Asia Cup.
