The uncapped Dhawal Kulkarni delighted in the second chance afforded by the Indian selectors, after being named in a strong 17-man squad for this month's five ODIs and one-off Twenty20 International against England.

Kulkarni was selected for the series against the West Indies last year, but endured an injury before debuting. The talented right-armer, though, has been all but assured of earning a first cap in August.

"I never lost hope. I knew that if I kept at it, my chance would come. It's not easy to maintain your momentum and intensity level season after season," he told The Indian Express.

"Last year, for the West Indies, I got injured just after I was picked. It's hard to describe how I felt. I do consider myself lucky. Life has come full-circle."

Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham and Leeds will host ODIs one, two, three four and five respectively. Edgbaston has been granted the sole T20I.
