Flintoff, who retired from international cricket in September 2010, has been practising with Lancashire this month.
The 36-year-old's training alongside the academy players, in particular, brought speculation of a comeback – and Lancashire have since confirmed.
"We are in talks with Andrew over possible involvement with the club during the NatWest T20 Blast campaign," the county reveleaed in a statement.
The veteran right-hander scored more than 7,000 runs and snared exactly 400 wickets across 227 international fixtures between July 1998 and August 2009.
