Lehmann likely to miss New Zealand tour

Coach Darren Lehmann looks set miss Australia's entire tour to New Zealand as he continues his recovery after being diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis.

Lehmann is already missing the current three-match T20I series at home against India, with Cricket Australia (CA) hoping that he would be fit for the tour against their Trans-Tasman rivals.

CA's chief medical officer John Orchard said: "Darren is in good health and feeling well at the moment but is still awaiting medical clearance for us to be satisfied that it is safe for him to fly.

"He is meeting with specialists in Sydney later this week and will have repeat scans on Friday to check his progress. It is anticipated he will be fit to resume work in the coming weeks.

"The health and well being of our players and staff is always our first priority and that's certainly the case with Darren."

Assistant coach Michael Di Venuto will take charge of the side in New Zealand where the Aussies are scheduled to play three ODIs and two Tests.
