Lynn looking at long lay-off

Aussie batsman Chris Lynn may not feature again in this season’s IPL after injuring his left shoulder in the Kolkata Knight Riders second game of the campaign.
Lynn hurt his shoulder attempting to complete a diving catch after Jos Buttler of the Mumbai Indians skied one from Chris Woakes into the outfield.
The injury comes as a huge blow to KKR for whom Lynn had been in blistering form smashing an unbeaten 93 in their opening game.
KKR mentor Jacques Kallis wrote in his column for Times of India: “We are awaiting the results of the scans to Chris Lynn’s shoulder which he dislocated on the field.
“It is a notoriously difficult area of the body to heal, so these are nervous times. He will undoubtedly need a substantial period of rest, and may even miss the rest of the tournament, which would be desperately disappointing for him and our fans after seeing what he is capable of doing during the first two games.”
Lynn has now injured the same shoulder three times in less than two years while also spending time out of the game earlier this season for an issue with a bulging disc in his back.
His injury is of grave concern for his Big Bash League franchise the Brisbane Heat as well as Cricket Australia.
ESPN Cricinfo report that Heat manager Andrew McShea said: “We’ll stay in close contact through this initial process as we get an idea of what the extent of the injury is and what the options are for him.
“It’s unfortunate for Chris to sustain another injury to the shoulder that has troubled him in the past. It’s not the sort of birthday you would wish for, and the best wishes of the club and our fans go out to him.”
