All-rounders Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq have been recalled to Pakistan's Twenty20 International squad for this month's Twenty20 International series in South Africa.
All-rounders Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq have been recalled to Pakistan's Twenty20 International squad for this month's Twenty20 International series in South Africa.
Wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed and batsman Haris Sohail, who were in the touring party for the series against Zimbabwe earlier this year, have been omitted.
Malik's return has been earned on the back of a fine stretch of form for the Barbados Tridents in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League.
Razzaq has not played T20I cricket since October 2012 – and was recently the subject of a hefty cash fine after publicly criticising captain Mohammad Hafeez.
Spinner Zulfiqar Babar was not considered due to a hand injury sustained during the Test series against the Proteas last month. Batsmen Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Amin have been retained.
The South Africans and Pakistanis will meet for two T20Is in Johannesburg and Cape Town on 20 and 22 November respectively. Three ODIs will follow.
Squad: Mohammad Hafeez (captain), Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal (wk), Umar Amin, Shahid Afridi, Sohaib Maqsood, Abdul Razzaq, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Malik, Abdur Rehman.
