Mashrafe included, Kayes dropped for Pak ODI’s

Captain Mashrafe Mortaza was named in the Bangaldesh ODI squad for the three-match series against Pakistan, despite being banned for the first match of the series, while the selectors have decided to drop batsman Imrul Kayes and spinner Tajiul Islam.

Masharafe copped a one-match ban after the Tigers were found guilty of having bowled their overs to slow in their World Cup quarter-final defeat to India.

There was a suggestion that the selectors might opt to rest the fast bowler completely, but he was named in the squad while allrounder Shakib Al Hassan will skipper the side in the first match.

Kayes was dropped after having a poor global tournament where he managed scores of five, two and two in three World Cup matches. Spinner Tajiul only played in one match at the world event, against New Zealand, recording figures of none for 58.

Uncapped batsman Rony Talukdar and medium-paceman Abul Hasan have been included in the 14-man squad.

Pakistan will play three ODIs in Bangladesh, starting on April 17 in Mirpur.
