Mashrafe: India have a strong batting order

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza says India deserve to be rated as the favourites when the Tigers take on their Asian rivals in a three-match ODI series next month.

The two teams met at the quarter-finals stage of the World Cup earlier this year where India won a match that was marred by controversial decisions by the umpires.

Mashrafe did not want to go want to talk about that match, instead he is looking forward to all the superstars of the Indian team coming into his country.

Fast Bowler Mashrafe said: "India have a strong batting order. You can't rule out anyone. There is Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinjya Rahane – they are all in good form.

"Mahendra Singh Dhoni has done well in the last six to eight years. So it's difficult to pinpoint one of them. The bowlers, especially the quicks, have been in good form since the World Cup."

The 31 year-old has also expressed hope that he will get to play a match in India in the not to distant future. The Tigers have toured to every Test playing nation except India in the last 15 years.

When asked if he want to play in India, Mashrafe said: "Yes, definitely the boys really want to play in India. We are looking forward to it. Maybe, at some stage, we will go there and play."
