Mashrafe: Nasir is a top-class bowler

Bangladesh limited-overs captain Mashrafe Mortaza is happy that batsman Nasir Hoosain is contributing more with the ball but thinks the spinner can still improve.

Nasir, who is more known for his batting, has bowled more in recent times under Mashrafe's captaincy, providing vital breakthroughs for his skipper.

Mashrafe commented: "I believe Nasir Hossain is the best off-spinner in the Bangladesh side. And I want him to gain confidence from his bowling, and continue his great form with the ball, given that he will lack batting opportunities at number 7 or 8?

"Form is temporary. It can go up and down but I always told Nasir that if he can bowl ten overs, it will be very useful for us. I always prefer him, as a result. He is a top-class bowler.

"I like that he believes that he can bowl 10 overs. At this moment I believe that he is doing well with the bat, and making the best of all the chances that he is getting."

Bangladesh play South Africa in a third and deciding ODI match in Chittagong on Wednesday.
