Mashrafe thinking about Test return

Bangladesh limited-overs captain Mashrafe Mortaza is thinking about making a return to the Test team if he can prove his fitness in the domestic four-day competition.

Mashrafe has not played in the longest format of the game since July 2009, when he captained the Tigers in a Test against the West Indies in Jamaica.

The paceman injured his knee in that match and has had fitness doubts ever since that incident which has led him to only play in the shorter fomats.

The 32 year-old confirmed that will he play for Khulna in the local first-class competiton and see how he gets through the match and take it from there.

Mashrafe said: "I will play from the NCL's next round for Khulna against Rangpur from October 10. I will also play one more game but not two in a row. I will play the other one later.

"Now my fitness is quite good, so I am getting the courage to play. I am even thinking about Test cricket. Now I have to see how it goes in the NCL."
