Maxwell called in for injured Finch

Explosive batsman Glenn Maxwell has been called into the ODI squad for their Australia day clash with England as cover for the injured Aaron Finch.
It seems unlikely that Maxwell will play in Friday’s traditional Australia day ODI but he will fly to Adelaide to join the squad.
Maxwell had been a surprise omission when the squad was announced for the series was announced earlier this month with Chris Lynn preferred ahead of him.
When Lynn got injured Australia called in Cameron White ahead of Maxwell but it now seems that the Victorian allrounder is being welcomed back in the fold.
Maxwell was critical of Australia’s batting telling the media that he felt they were batting at too slow a tempo for modern ODI cricket.
Finch has been Australia’s form batsman in a disappointing series so far topscoring and registering his tenth ODI century.
Sources close to the team suggest that out of sorts middle order batsman Travis Head may be asked to open the batting in Finch’s place with Maxwell acting as cover.
