Mehedi called into Tiger’s ODI squad

Bangladesh have called 19-year-old spinner Mehedi Hasan into the squad for their three match ODI series against Sri Lanka that gets underway on Saturday March 25.
Mehedi burst onto the Test scene against the touring English side late last year taking 6/80 in his very first bowling effort in the longest format.
The spinner has yet to earn a cap in the fifty over format though and while he has proved economical in domestic fifty over cricket he has found wickets harder to come by picking up 27 scalps in the same number of matches.
Mehedi had already left Sri Lanka with the rest of the Test players who were not selected for the ODI series but will now return ahead of the series opener.
The young man had been set to represent Bangladesh at under-23 level in the ACC Emerging Nations Cup and will be replaced in that squad by Naeem Hasan.
Mehedi’s addition to the squad swells the group to 17 players.
Bangladesh ODI squad: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy, Sunzamul Islam, Shuvagata Hom, Nurul Hasan, Mehedi Hasan
