Middlesex secure Voges for 2016 season

English county side Middlesex have resigned Australia batsman Adam Voges for the 2016 domestic season, around his national  commitments for the Aussies.

The 36-year-old Voges, who only played four games for the county side last season, will start the season at Lord's and play until early June when he has to link up with Australia for the three-Test tour to Sri Lanka.

After the Test series Voges will return to Middlesex for the remainder of the season. The right-handed batsman has also been named captain of the county for the first-class competiton.

Middlesex Managing Director of Cricket Angus Fraser said: "Adam's return is something we are all delighted with.

"He may not have spent a huge amount of time with us but during the time he has been with us he has made an extremely positive impression.

"Adam continues to show what a high-quality player he is – and we know what a top bloke he is."
