Morgan: Moores criticism is not fair
England captain Eoin Morgan feels it is unfair to put all the blame on England's early World Cup exit on coach Peter Moores, saying the players should take full responsibility.
Morgan was speaking after his side beat Afghanistan by nine wickets in a match that was shortened due to rain. The win was a mere consolation for England as they were embarrassingly knocked out of the global event by Bangladesh.
Moores has come in for a lot of the criticism for the way he goes about managing the side and his approach towards ODI cricket in general, but Morgan certainly feels the criticism is not justified.
Morgan said: "I certainly think (the criticism on the Moores) it's not fair. All the responsibility should fall on the players, it's our responsibility to perform as a side. Particularly when we've performed so badly.
"If there were little things, and we just weren't able to get over the line, games where we competed and little parts of our game weren't right you could look elsewhere.
"But it's important that we realize as a side where the responsibility lies and where we want to be and how we want to get there."
