Morgan will be key – Anderson
James Anderson believes England’s best chance of succeeding in the 50-over game in the coming months is if Eoin Morgan plays a key role in the side’s middle order.
England will play a One Day International (ODI) series in Sri Lanka as part of their World Cup groundwork, before a tri-series against Australia and India rounds off their preparation for the global showpiece.
Speaking during a commentary stint with Sky Sports on Tuesday, Anderson claimed that Morgan is a match winner for Alastair Cook’s side.
“He’s going to be a huge player for us in the one day series in Sri Lanka and on to the World Cup,” Anderson told Sky Sports.
“He’s one of the most talented players I’ve played with and he’s one of those match winners you need, especially in a big competition like the World Cup, and we’re hoping for him to do well.”
