Mushtaq: We bowled poorly

Spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed Pakistan proved substandard, as Sri Lanka dominated day three of the first Test match at the Galle International Stadium.
An unbeaten century from the veteran Kumar Sangakkara and a complementary half-ton from fellow stalwart Mahela Jayawardene carried the hosts to 252 for two – in response to Pakistan's 451 all out.
"We bowled poorly but that has got a lot to do with the fact that we have not played Test cricket for seven months. Also there was nothing in the wicket for them, especially against such class batsmen like Sangakkara and Mahela," said Ahmed.
Rain marred proceedings on Friday, allowing for a mere 46 overs. Fast bowler Mohammad Talha clinched the only wicket, removing opener Kaushal Silva in the first session.
Sangakkara and Jayawardene later assumed command, orchestrating an unbroken 108-run alliance for the third wicket. The left- and right-hander will resume on 102 not out and 55 not out respectively on Saturday.
"But this match is not over yet. If we can break through early, it could still turn out to be a close game," added Ahmed.
