Pakistan have dropped batsmen Nasir Jamshed and Umar Amin from the ODI squad to face Sri Lanka, replacing them with rookies Sharjeel Khan and Haris Sohail.

Neither Jamshed nor Amin impressed in the ODI series in South Africa in November, so Sharjeel, who made his debut against Afghanistan earlier this month, has been given another chance.

Sohail, meanwhile, is also inexperienced, having played four ODIs since his debut in July, and one T20. He will need plenty of support from veterans Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.

Squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Mohammad Hafeez, Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Sohaib Maqsood, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Junaid Khan, Anwar Ali, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti
