Pakistan drop Younis Khan

Younis Khan has been dropped from the Pakistan One Day International (ODI) side to play Australia.

The former captain was given an ODI reprieve during the recently completed series against Sri Lanka – having not played in the format for Pakistan for 18 months – but made just three in his only innings of the series.

In his place, Umar Amin and Asad Shafiq were recalled.

Umar Akmal is set to be selected as a specialist batsman after wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed was recalled to the squad for what will be his first ODIs since August last year.

Opener Sharjeel Khan and the fast bowler Mohammad Talha were left out, though.

In the absence of Saeed Ajmal, Pakistan have recalled left-arm spinner Raza Hasan, but Zulfiqar Babar was left out.
