PCB decide against appealing Ajmal's ban

The Pakistan Cricket Board have opted not to appeal the ICC's decision to ban spinner Saeed Ajmal for chucking, rather choosing to look into the matter via their internal bowling review panel first.
The Pakistan Cricket Board have opted not to appeal the ICC's decision to ban spinner Saeed Ajmal for chucking, rather choosing to look into the matter via their internal bowling review panel first.
Ajmal was banned by the sport's governing body after his bowling action was deemed illegal, contravening the 15 degrees of flex ruling, and now has to work on his action and get re-tested before he can play again.
On Tuesday the PCB said they would be appealing the decision, but chairman Shaharyar Khan has taken back those comments, indicating the at the PCB would use their own experts to look into the matter.
He said: "We have decided to make a committee to assess bowling actions of all these suspect bowlers so that this problem is sorted out once and for all."
Ajmal himself felt he would be good to go by the time the World Cup rolled around in February next year, saying on ARY News: "I am still positive, and can make it to the World Cup.
"They (ICC) have not yet considered my medical reports, and once they do it I am sure there should be no problems. There's a bend in my arm, and if someone has a medical problem he can't do much about it."
