Plunkett replaces injured Finn for WT20
England fast bowler Steve Finn has been ruled out of the World Twenty20 in India next month with a calf injury, and has been replaced in the squad by Yorkshire's Liam Plunkett.
Finn had only recently recovered from a side strain picked up in the Test series in South Africa recently, and before that he missed a chunk of time with an ankle injury. Plunkett also recently returned from injury.
Middlesex, Finn's club, revealed that Finn had undergone scans. County director Angus Fraser told Cricinfo: "He was just warming up for a bowl a couple of days ago and felt his calf go ping.
"He had the scan today and unfortunately we can't take him. I've just spoken to him and he's pretty low at the moment."
Finn also reacted to the news, saying on Twitter: "Really disappointed to have picked up another injury on my road to recovery. Gutted doesn't describe it. Good luck to the guys out there!"
As for Plunkett, his most recent efforts saw him take six wickets in two matches against Pakistan in the UAE last November. But he was injured for the tour to South Africa, and has played one match this year, for the England Lions.
