Prabhakar joins Afghans as bolwing coach
Afghanistan have added another famous name to their coaching staff, with former India all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar joining as the bowling coach until after the World Twenty20 next year.
With Pakistan batting legend Inzamam-ul-Haq the team's head coach, Prabhakar's appointment will add yet more Test experience to the side, as the Afghans look to continue their growth towards the to tier.
Prabhakar last played one of his 39 Tests in 1995, and played 130 ODIs for India. He will be a valuable resource for the likes of Dawlat and Shapoor Zadran ahead of the ICC tournament in India in March.
Prabhakar told The Hindu: "I am glad I can guide the Afghan team. They have immense talent and I am sure, in the years to come, the Afghanistan team would emerge as a force to reckon with in all forms of the game.
"They have shown a healthy keenness to learn the finer points of the game."
Afghanistan still have to qualify for the WT20 proper, and are in a group with Scotland, Zimbabwe, and Hong Kong. Only one of these sides will reach the main event.
