Sri Lanka have been dealt a blow in the fast bowling department as they will be without Nuwan Pradeep for the second Test against Pakistan in Colombo, having picked up an injury in training.
Pradeep had only recently returned to the side after a previous ankle injury, and now joins Suranga Lakmal, who was ruled out of the first Test, on the sidelines for the final match of the series.
Sri Lanka manager Michael de Zoysa said: "Nuwan twisted his right ankle while fielding at practice and had to be helped off the field. He is unable to put his foot down.
"He has gone back to Colombo for a scan but it is unlikely that he will take any further part in the series. Most likely he will be out for at least two to three weeks.
"We will certainly need replacements for the two injured players before the start of the second Test."
As such, of the 13 players in the squad now, only Shaminda Eranga and Dhammika Prasad provide a pace threat, though with the next match being in Colombo, the spinners are likely to play the more important role.
