Prasad ‘unlikely’ to play on England tour

Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad is set to miss the entire tour of England after being sent home with a shoulder injury, with management saying it's not likely he'll be back to the UK.
Prasad picked up a shoulder injury ahead of the first Test at Headingley and was sent home to recover, but further tests have shown that he probably won't recover enough to return to the team.
This is a heavy blow for Sri Lanka, as Prasad is one of their most effective bowlers in English conditions, as the England players will recall after he did much of the damage on day five in Leeds in 2014.
"After yesterday's fitness test, the management took a decision that he would be sent back for further treatment," team manager Charith Senanayake said on Thursday.
"It's the prevailing injury. He was to do another test today, but yesterday we tested him at training and he still couldn't bowl."
Prasad took 41 wickets in 2015 at an average under 25. He was replaced in the first Test XI by debutant Dasun Shanaka, who took three wickets in three overs on day one.
