Wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin basked in the Man of the Match award and Player of the Series accolade, as the West Indies recorded a three-nil whitewash over Bangladesh in the final ODI at Warner Park.

Ramdin, who struck a fine 74 and 34 in ODIs one and two respectively, registered a career-best 169 off just 121 deliveries – eight fours and 11 sixes included – in Basseterre, St Kitts, on Monday.

The right-handed Ramdin was particularly fruitful during a record 258-run alliance for the third wicket alongside the left-handed Darren Bravo, whose complementary 124 was lined with seven fours and eight sixes.

The entertaining vigils carried the Windies to a formidable final total of 338 for seven, after which the tourists slumped to a mere 247 for eight – and a resounding 91-run defeat.

"Captain Dwayne Bravo said he needed someone to bat through the innings and I put my hand up. Darren helped me get there and rotate the strike and hit some boundaries on the way," said Ramdin.

"Bangladesh's seamers bowled well early, then Darren took over and then finally I took over to look for quick runs. I just try to give myself time in the middle and not look to hit too hard in the nets."

The Windies and Tigers will meet for a one-off Twenty20 International at the same venue on Wednesday. Two Tests will follow at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown and Beausejour Cricket Ground in Gros Islet.

"We now look forward to the T20I game, and we hope to come with the same attitude. Not much is going to change as we are hungry for success. We want to keep putting on a good team effort going forward. We look forward to great things ahead," concluded skipper Bravo.
