Report: India keen to snag Langer

According to report in India, the BCCI are looking into the possibility of getting Perth Scorchers coach Justin Langer to apply for the India head coach job, at the same time England are also searching for a coach.

Langer has led the Scorchers to two Big Bash League titles, and was linked with the England job alongside Jason Gillespie, though Langer says he's never been contacted by ECB director Andrew Strauss.

India are without a head coach after Duncan Fletcher's tenure with the side came to an end after the World Cup. The un-named source quoted by Press Trust of India, apparently close to the dealings, also said they'd be happy to bag former England coach Andy Flower.

The source said: "Langer's name is doing rounds but it is too premature to say anything.

"No formal offer has been made by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to anyone but some of the bigwigs are discussing names of Justin Langer and former England chief coach Andy Flower.

"While applications will be invited and due process will be followed, the BCCI won't mind if Langer or Flower send their CVs."
