Reports: Narine may opt out of WC event

2015 World Cup

According to reports West Indies ace spinner Sunil Narine may opt out of the upcoming World Cup to continue to work on remodeling his bowling action after being called by the umpires in last season's Indian Premier League competition in September.

The reports comes after former West Indies Players Association (WIPA) President Dinanath Ramnarine posted a message on his twitter account about Narine's, who comes from Trinidad and Tobago, probable absence from the showpiece event.

Ramnarine tweeted: "One of TNT's ace player will soon be announcing that he is pulling out of WC in Aus/NZ…..stay tune for details more to come!!!

He then followed up on twitter: "Okay guys it's Sunil Narine. He will be out of the WC 2015. I wish Sunil all d best as he continues to work very hard on his bowling issues."

A former West Indies player himself, Ramnarine was the one that broke the news, also on twitter, that allrounders Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo were left out of the World Cup squad before it was officially announced.

Narine has already missed the West Indies tours of India, in October, and the current tour to South Africa.
