Return to broadcasting beckons for Benaud

Renowned commentator Richie Benaud will make his long-awaited returning to broadcasting later this year.
Renowned commentator Richie Benaud will make his long-awaited returning to broadcasting later this year.
The 84-year-old former Australian captain was involved in a serious car crash last October in which he suffered chest and shoulder injuries. As a result he hasn't been behind the mic since the accident.
However, the revered analyst is expected to make his comeback for Australia's Channel Nine during the upcoming Twenty20 series between the Aussies and South Africa, with further appearances next year a possibility.
"Richie is coming in to work to voice a teaser for the first Twenty20 (against South Africa) next week. That is the first bit of work Richie has done in more than a year since his car accident," Channel Nine's revealed to Steve Crawley told Fairfax Media.
"He is good. In his words, he is moving along slowly but happily. It will be lovely to have him launching our summer of cricket next week."
