India will be without batting all-rounder Rohit Sharma for the rest of the tour to England after picking up a finger fracture, and will be replaced in the squad by Test opener Murali Vijay.

India currently lead the ODI series, having lost the Tests, by one game to nil after two matches. Rohit scored a half century in the second ODI victory, and appeared to hurt his finger while fielding in that game.

A statement issued by the BCCI said: "Rohit Sharma has sustained a fracture on the middle finger of his right hand, and has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI and T20 International series against England, as a result.

"The All-India senior selection committee has picked Murali Vijay as his replacement. Vijay will join the squad in England at the earliest."

Vijay is unlikely to arrive in England in time for the third ODI in Nottingham on Saturday though.
