Sammy: We can be very destructive

West Indies captain Darren Sammy says his team can be very destructive even though they are missing some important players at the current World T20 in India.
The 2014 champions lost spinner Sunil Narine, batsman Darren Bravo and big hitting allrounder Kieron Pollard before the tournament but still started with a convincing victory over England thanks to a blistering unbeaten century from Chris Gayle.
Speaking to reporters ahead his team's game against Sri Lanka on Sunday, Sammy said he just wants to concentrate on the players that he currently has at his disposal.
Sammy said: "Yes we are missing important players but once we execute our plans then we can be very destructive. It's cricket and it's an event that we enjoy playing. So, whatever issues, they are behind us.
"Our focus is on winning matches and we want to take it step by step. Ii is the calibre of the players in the squad that I am concerned about."
Sri Lanka dumped the Caribbean side out at the semifinal stage of the last World T20 in 2014, on their way to becoming champions, but Sammy says Sunday's game is not about revenge.
The Windies skipper said: "I wouldn't say it is revenge. If this match was the final then we could think on those lines but it is a group game. We respect them a lot and we have had great games between us.
"Hope it is a good game. We want to keep winning. We want to execute our plans. You saw it against England."
