Samson replaces injured Rayudu in Zim

India have been struck a heavy blow with the news that batsman Ambati Rayudu has to miss the rest of the tour to Zimbabwe after picking up an injury to his right thigh, and has been replaced by Sanju Samson.
Rayudu picked up the injury in the second ODI on Sunday, which India won. He has been their star batsman on the tour, scoring a ton in the first match and 41 in the second. He will miss the third ODI and two T20s.
A BCCI press release read: "The BCCI medical team confirms that Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of the remaining part of the India’s tour of Zimbabwe due to an injury he has sustained while playing the 2nd ODI.
"Rayudu has pulled his right quadriceps muscles and will require 2 to 3 weeks of rehabilitation.
"The All India senior selection committee has named Sanju Samson as Rayudu’s replacement for the rest of the tour."
Samson, an IPL product since his teen years, has not yet played for India in any format, but averages 44 in First Class cricket. He is primarily a T20 player though, having played 67 T20s, averaging 24.28.
