Shakib had historic feat in mind

Shakib Al Hasan revealed that he targeted the rare feat of scoring a century and taking 10 wickets in a Test match in mind during Bangladesh's 162-run win over Zimbabwe in Khulna on Friday.
Shakib Al Hasan revealed that he targeted the rare feat of scoring a century and taking 10 wickets in a Test match in mind during Bangladesh's 162-run win over Zimbabwe in Khulna on Friday.
Shakib became the third player in history to achieve the feat – after Ian Botham in 1980 and Imran Khan in 1983 – when he scored 137 in the Bangladesh first innings before returning with figures of 5-80 and 5-44 in Zimbabwe's two knocks.
"I had my eye on this record ever since a journalist told me about it a few weeks ago," Shakib said after being named the Man of the Match in the second Test.
"I was lucky and fortunate to have done it. This was not an easy wicket to bat on and the ball was turning a lot on the last day.
"I am glad to contribute to a series win, but it was a very good team effort. Hopefully we will continue to do well in future."
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim added that Shakib is a "special" player who "inspires" the rest of the side.
"We know why Shakib is special – with bat, ball and in the field and all the young guys are inspired him," Rahim said.
