SLC considering points system for England series

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) have confirmed that their English counterparts have made a request that the upcoming bilateral series between the teams be determined on a point-based system.
The system has been adopted for the Women's Ashes series with four points awarded for a Test victory, and two points each awarded for an ODI and T20I win.
The SLC will discuss the proposal at the next board meeting later this month or early in May.
SLC's vice-president Mohan de Silva said: "The ECB has made a request, but we have not discussed or agree up to this point of time.
"We will probably take it up at the next executive committee meeting. The CEO and the Cricket Operations Manager will have to make a recommendation to the committee."
If the proposal is accepted it would reduce any meaningless games if a series is already decided in a specific format although a series trophy will still be awarded for the separate formats.
