Sri Lanka appoint interim coach for Windies

Former Colombo all-rounder Jerome Jayaratne has been appointed Sri Lanka's interim coach until November, and will be in charge of the side for the series against the visiting West Indies.
Jayaratne, who played 22 First Class matches, has been an administrator for the national side for the past seven years. He's been the head of coaching, but with Marvan Atapattu resigning after the India series, Jayaratne has stepped in.
SLC said in a media release: "Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that SLC Head of Coaching Jerome Jayaratne, has been appointed as the Interim Head Coach of the Sri Lankan National Team with immediate effect for the upcoming West Indies Series in October/November 2015."
As for after that, it remains to be seen. Paul Farbrace, now the England assistant coach, had been very successful as Sri Lanka's leader until he was lured away by the ECB, which was when Atapattu took over in early 2014.
Since then, Sri Lanka went from doing very well in all formats, to losing a string of series, including the latest against India, who had not won a series on Sri Lankan soil in 22 years.
The West Indies arrive on 1 October for two Tests, three ODIs and two T20s.
