Steyn included in SA ‘A’ squad to tour England

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn will make his return to the playing field after a lengthy shoulder injury after being included in the SA A side that will tour England later this month.
The 33-year-old Steyn suffered the serious injury while playing for the Proteas against Australia in the first Test of the three-match series in November last year.
Steyn, who was not included in the Proteas' ODI squad for the Champions Trophy, has only been selected in the four-day side for a tour that includes three four-day games and five One-Day matches.
The SA A squad for the multi-day format also includes Proteas Test batsmen Temba Bavuma and Theunis de Bruyn while spinner Dane Piedt also received a call up.
It will be an ideal chance for the players to acclimatise to the English conditions as the Proteas will play a four-match Test series in England starting July.
Squad member Khaya Zondo commented: "The four-day series will give us an opportunity to see how some of the players who are on the fringes of the Test squad perform in England ahead of the four-test series.
"We still have time to finalise the Test team so that series can give us some pointers before we finalise the Test squad."
