Spinner Elias Sunny has been called up to Bangladesh's squad for this month's Test series against the West Indies as a replacement for all-rounder Sohag Gazi.
Gazi has been withdrawn from the remainder of the tour after being reported for a suspect bowling action during the second ODI against the same opposition.
"I was very surprised at first. Let alone the national team, I wasn't even in the preliminary squad for Bangladesh A, though I was added later," Sunny told Prothom Alo.
"I felt I had just fallen from the sky when some journalists called me on Friday evening telling me that I might be in the Test squad. I think I have recovered from the shock. I am feeling quite happy now."
The 28-year-old Sunny has taken a dozen wickets in the longest format of the international game, including an innings-best six for 94 against on debut against the Windies in Chittagong in October 2011.
The first Test will get underway in Kingstown on 5 September. Gros Islet will host the second and final fixture.
