T20 Rankings: Rizwan charges up to fourth, Babar reigns supreme

Pakistan skipper remains atop the ICC T20 Rankings while opening partner Mohammad Rizwan is up to fourth in the latest update.

Rizwan’s upward movement is courtesy his 90 runs in the three-match series against Bangladesh that his side won 3-0, which earned him the player of the series award.

India opener KL Rahul is only six rating points behind Rizwan after scoring 80 in two matches against New Zealand, during a series also won 3-0 by his side.

The Black Caps Martin Guptill has gained three slots to reach 10th position scoring 152 runs against India while Rohit Sharma is 13th, gaining two places after topping the series with 159 runs. Suryakumar Yadav has jumped 24 places to 59th position.

Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman is another one to move up the batsmen’s list, from 40th to 35th.

England’s Dawid Malan is second on the rankings ahead of South Africa’s Aiden Markram with neither making any movement in the latest update.

Bowlers rankings

The rankings for bowlers saw Mitchell Santner gain ten slots to reach 13th position with four wickets in the series against India and Bhuvneshwar Kumar up five to 19th with three scalps. Deepak Chahar has moved up 19 slots to reach 40th position.

Others to progress in the list include Mahedi Hasan (up six places to 12th) and Shoriful Islam (up three places to 40th) of Bangladesh, and the Pakistan pair of Shadab Khan (up two places to 14th) and Hasan Ali (up 16 places to 44th).

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga tops the bowlers rankings in the T20 format after a brilliant shift in the T20 World Cup, just ahead of the Proteas Tabraiz Shamsi.

The top five is made up entirely of spinners with Aam Zampa, Adil Rashid and Rashid Khan holding onto their places in third, fourth and fifth on the list.

Josh Hazlewood ranks as the top quick in the world in T20Is, sitting in sixth place in a top ten that is unchanged barring the entrance of Chris Jordan in tenth place.

Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is still the top T20 allrounder according to the ICC Rankings.
