The autobiography of former India captain Sachin Tendulkar will be published later this year.

Tendulkar, who is the leading run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket, retired from the international game late last year.

"I knew that agreeing to write my story would need me to be completely honest, as that's the way I have always played the game. It would require talking about a number of aspects I have not shared in public before," said Tendulkar.

The talented right-hander, whose book will be titled 'Playing It My Way', recorded an unprecedented 49 ODI centuries and 51 in Test cricket during a career that spanned 24 years.

"So here I am, at the end of my final innings, having taken that last walk back to the pavilion, ready to recount as many incidents as I can remember since first picking up a cricket bat as a child in Mumbai 35 years ago," he added.
