England batsman Jonathan Trott has returned to light training with Warwickshire's second XI, according to the club, but no plans have been made for a return to the middle.

Trott has been out of action due to mental pressures, having left the Australia tour late last year to what he called 'burn-out' and exhaustion. He made a brief comeback, but then withdrew from the scene again in April.

With Trott's anxiety issues requiring more time than he expected to work through, there has been no speculation about a return for Warks, let alone England. Though this seems to be a step in a positive direction for the number three.

Warwickshire director of cricket Dougie Brown told the Daily Telegraph on Saturday: "Trotty had a net on Thursday and he took a full part in practice yesterday.

"He's back hitting the ball and he is being integrated into the stuff that we are doing. But no timescale has yet been put on when he will play again.

"He will probably train with us again over the weekend but at this stage he is not in our plans to be playing second team cricket next week."
