Uthappa recalled for Bangladesh ODIs

Batsman Robin Uthappa has been recalled to India's ODI squad for June's series against Bangladesh.
Batsman Robin Uthappa has been recalled to India's ODI squad for next month's series against Bangladesh.
The left-handed Suresh Raina has been named captain in the absence of the rested Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
Openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Mohammad Shami have also been excluded for the brief three-match affair, which will precede an important tour of England.
Uncapped batsman Kedar Jadhav and spinner Akshar Patel, meanwhile, have received call-ups on the back of solid stretches of form, highlighted by a slew of telling performances for the Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab respectively in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Uthappa, however, has been the standout player – and on Wednesday gathered a 10th consecutive 40-plus score for the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have graduated to the play-offs stage of the lucrative Twenty20 tournament.
Spinning all-rounder Parvez Rasool, too, is in line for a debut – and the talented Wriddhiman Saha or Uthappa will keep wicket. The matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on 15, 17 and 19 June.
Squad: Suresh Raina (captain), Robin Uthappa, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ambati Rayudu, Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Wriddhiman Saha, Parvez Rasool, Akshar Patel, Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Stuart Binny, Mohit Sharma, Amit Mishra.
